A 1km long raised boardwalk meanders within the Hunter River estuary and popular for water-bird watching and spotting aquatic plants and grasses within this saltmarsh ecosystem.
Mangrove Walk
Cullendulla Creek Nature Reserve
A 2.4km loop through the mangroves partly on an elevated walkway offering great birdwatching which is best done at low tide. There are information boards found along the way with information on the many interesting features, some of which are found no where else.
Merimbula Boardwalk

Merimbula Boardwalk meanders around the lake shore and through mangrove forests, under eucalyptus canopies and past pristine oyster farms. It’s approximately 3.4 kilometres return and will take around 1.5 leisurely hours to complete.
Urunga Boardwalk
Bellinger State Park
Considered one of the best boardwalks on the east coast, the one-kilometre Urunga Boardwalk starts in town, before following the Kalang River to the junction of the Bellinger River and continuing onto the ocean. A shorter diversion crosses the Urunga Wetlands, teeming with birdlife including pelicans, white-faced herons and osprey.
